Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer to join the manufacturing operations team. You will drive reliability, performance and continuous improvement of production equipment and processes, partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and Automation teams.

The role focuses on applying specialist process engineering knowledge to identify risks, lead improvement programmes, and mentor engineers through complex challenges in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience within medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-level and global technical leadership in process engineering initiatives.
• Lead the implementation of process improvement programmes to drive standardisation, efficiency and best practices across manufacturing operations.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, Fishbone, FTA, 5 Whys).
• Drive continuous improvement to optimise process capability, cycle time, scrap and OEE.
