Job summary

Tyndall National Institute seeks a Research Engagement Officer to lead and coordinate public engagement and outreach programmes. You will work with researchers, educators and external partners to develop engaging activities, report on impact, and pursue European and national funding opportunities.

The role requires robust communication, project management and networking skills, and an ability to operate across multiple sites and collaborations within Ireland and Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Typically 3+ years experience in communicating science with the public.
• Significant experience in networking and motivating others.
• Excellent communications and project management skills.
• Experience applying for funding for EPE programmes.
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in public engagement activities locally and internationally.
• Plan and implement outreach programmes aligned with employer strategies.
• Engage researchers to participate in planned activities and track impact.
• Maintain records and KPI indicators of outreach activities.
• Prepare reports, presentations and impact assessments as required.
• Collaborate with Education & Public Engagement staff and other teams.
• Develop partnerships with external stakeholders and funders.
