Job summary

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland seeks a Permanent HST Programme Coordinator to manage planning and execution of medical specialist training programmes. You will liaison with trainees, trainers, NSDs and programme directors, ensuring high-quality delivery and accurate data management.

The role requires a proactive communicator with strong IT literacy, excellent organisation, and a collaborative approach to cross‑department projects.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification with proven capability and 2-3 years' experience in a comparable role.
  • Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills with skilful attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage key business relationships with stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with motivation and ability to work flexibly both independently and in a team.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, letters, and presentations.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise with a varied workload.
  • Proven IT literacy and ability to maximise digital tools for efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Trainee Recruitment & Selection activities across the application and interview process.
  • Liaise with NSDs, Hospital staff, and NDTP regarding annual intake figures.
  • On-board National Specialty Directors to standardise recruitment and assessment processes.
  • Schedule and communicate study days, inductions, and events to trainees and trainers.
  • Organise and support Specialty Training Committees and follow up actions.
  • Maintain trainee profiles and curriculum requirements in ePortfolio systems.
  • Provide timely responses to queries and relay feedback to stakeholders.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative reports for RCPI management and external bodies.
