Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/HVAC Design Engineer – BIM to support the delivery of a major semiconductor facility project.
This role will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from BIM model development and design coordination through to site installation support, commissioning, and final project handover.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure mechanical and HVAC systems are designed, coordinated, and installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards within a highly regulated cleanroom and advanced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and HVAC engineering activities across assigned project areas.
- Develop, review, and coordinate BIM models for mechanical and HVAC systems, ensuring model accuracy, clash detection, and resolution.
- Support the installation of mechanical and HVAC systems, working closely with contractors to resolve technical queries and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and support commissioning readiness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, electrical, architectural, and construction management professionals.
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom requirements, contamination control procedures, and advanced manufacturing standards.
- Review technical submittals, method statements, and contractor documentation.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities, including testing, system verification, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate BIM models, project records, and as-built documentation.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the project.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering mechanical and HVAC systems on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing projects.
- Strong experience using BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent platforms.
- Previous site-based experience on major construction or engineering projects.
- Knowledge of cleanroom HVAC systems, high-purity systems, contamination control, or semiconductor facility requirements is highly advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and construction quality standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
