Job summary

Gi Group in Mayo is seeking a Cost Engineer to support the Financial Controller by tracking and reporting project and service costs across HVAC projects and contracts.

The role involves analyzing cost data, maintaining CTC/WIP, producing cost reports, assisting budgeting, and supporting procurement and change orders to protect margins. A minimum of 3 years in cost engineering within HVAC/MEP is required, with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in cost engineering / cost control within HVAC/MEP or building services.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Experience producing Power BI dashboards or automated reporting.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyse project costs against budgets.
• Maintain cost-to-complete (CTC) and cost-to-date reporting for live projects.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports with variances and actions.
• Support month-end close activities related to job costing and WIP.
• Assist in project budgeting and setup with cost codes and spend profiles.
• Produce forecasts with Project Managers and Operations, including cashflow/margin forecasting.
