Job summary

daa Infrastructure Department is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Lead to join the team for a fixed-term contract as part of the Dublin Airport capital investment programme. You will provide expert advice on HSE compliance, mobilise contractors, and uphold high HSE standards across the project.

You will lead development of HSE management systems, conduct audits and inspections, review documentation, and support timely incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher qualification in health and safety systems.
• Certificate or higher qualification in environmental studies.
• Chartered Member of relevant professional body, i.e., IOSH, IEMA, CRSP.
• 10+ years experience in HSE across major infrastructure and engineering projects.
• Experience in the aviation industry preferred.
• Demonstrable experience implementing and managing HSE on site.
• Experience in developing and maintaining HSE management systems and certifications, i.e., ISO.
• Excellent written communications and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Team player, self-motivated and able to work using his/her own initiative.
• Excellent organisational skills with a positive flexible work mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of HSE in developing and implementing a credible HSE Management System.
• Provide oversight of HSE performance within the programmes.
• Advise programmes on HSE considerations, risks and changes in legislation.
• Conduct HSE audits, targeted inspections, and site visits.
• Review PSDP and PSCS project documentation.
• Attend meetings, workshops and reviews as required.
• Foster collaboration with other contracting entities.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining ISO standards.
• Review P2W system applications in a timely manner.
• Review safety files for handover at project end.
• Oversee incident investigation and SMART corrective actions.
• Report on programme HSE performance using KPIs.
• Drive best practice in HSE across programmes.
• Provide expert advice and support to programme teams on HSE.
• Ensure HSE systems and tools are fit for purpose and drive improvement.
• Lead processes to identify and mitigate health, safety and environmental risks.
