Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Partner in Galway for a 13-month fixed-term contract. The role is onsite initially, with a transition to hybrid or weekly homeworking. You will support salaried employees, lead recruitment, and advise on employee relations and policy compliance.

The ideal candidate has HRBP or senior generalist experience, strong IR knowledge, and comfort working in an unionised or manufacturing setting. Onsite coverage and proactive stakeholder engagement are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• Experience as HRBP or Senior HR Generalist.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment law.
• Unionised or industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Onsite HR support and recruitment coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite, end-to-end HR support for salaried employees in Galway.
• Lead and coordinate full-cycle recruitment including workforce planning, sourcing, selection and onboarding.
• Support development and performance management processes.
• Manage employee relations, policy guidance, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Coach leaders on team effectiveness, engagement and HR best practices.
• Support organizational change initiatives and workforce planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with Irish employment law and internal HR policies.
• Utilize HR data and systems to identify trends and drive improvements in the employee experience.

HR Partner – 13 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Galway City.

On site Monday to Friday for a couple of months and then reverts to a hybrid model or one day per week working from home.

The Work

As HR Partner, you will provide onsite, end-to-end HR support to salaried employees in Galway, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the employee lifecycle and contributing to a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace.

• Deliver onsite HR support for salaried employees, acting as a key point of contact for HR queries and support.
• Lead and coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including workforce planning, sourcing, selection, and onboarding.
• Support employee development and performance management, ensuring consistent and fair processes.
• Manage employee relations matters, including guiding on HR policies, supporting investigations, and facilitating conflict resolution.
• Coach and advise leaders on team effectiveness, engagement, and implementation of HR best practices.
• Support organizational change initiatives and workforce planning activities.
• Ensure HR practices comply with Irish employment law and internal HR policies.
• Use HR data, systems, and insights to identify trends and drive continuous improvement in the employee experience.

The Person

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and employees, brings strong employee relations expertise, and has experience of working in an unionised or industrial/manufacturing environment.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience: Background as an HR Business Partner or Senior Hr Generalist.
• Employee Relations: Strong experience in employee relations, within an unionised or industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Onsite Support: Demonstrated ability to provide proactive onsite HR support and coordinate recruitment activities.
• Legislation & Compliance: Solid working knowledge of Irish employment law and HR compliance requirements.
• Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
• Preferred: Familiarity with HR systems and tools such as Workday or Servicenow.
• Personal Attributes: Collaborative, solutions-focused, and resilient, with strong emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
