Job summary

Brandon House Hotel & Solas Croí Spa seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead all HR activities and partner with management to attract, develop, engage and retain staff. You will ensure best practice and compliance across HR functions within a four-star hospitality setting.

You will drive recruitment, onboarding, and succession initiatives, while fostering a positive workplace culture and aligning HR programmes with the hotel's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Management role.
  • Qualified to third level in Human Resource Management, Business, or related discipline.
  • CIPD qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment and selection across hotel, leisure centre, and spa.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction programmes; support succession planning.
  • Advise managers on employee relations, disciplinary, grievance and performance issues.
  • Coordinate learning and development programmes and mandatory training.
  • Maintain HR records; ensure compliance with employment legislation and policies.
  • Partner with managers on workforce planning and organisational development.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and Directors, the Human Resources Manager will lead all aspects of the HR function and provide strategic and operational support across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with management teams to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented employees while ensuring best practice and compliance across all HR activities.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Development
  • Lead all recruitment and selection activities across the hotel, leisure centre, and spa.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and induction programmes.
  • Support succession planning and career progression initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with educational institutions and industry partners to attract future talent.
Employee Relations

Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR matters.

  • Manage disciplinary, grievance, investigation, and performance management processes.
  • Support managers in resolving employee relations issues fairly and consistently.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Learning & Development
  • Identify training needs across departments.
  • Coordinate learning and development programmes.
  • Support management development and leadership training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Drive employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Organise staff events
  • Promote and embed the company's core values throughout the organisation.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
HR Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Oversee work permits, contracts, and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll administration, wage budgets and time and attendance processes.
  • Prepare HR reports and management information as required.
Strategic Contribution
  • Partner with department managers to support operational objectives.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and organisational development.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within HR systems and processes.
  • Support the achievement of the hotel's overall business goals.
We are looking for someone who is:
  • An experienced HR professional with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Human Resources Management role.
  • Qualified to third level in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards qualification) is desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professional, approachable, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Experienced in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems, such as Alkimii.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused.
