Job summary

Dublin Simon Community is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist service users daily, deliver development programs, and work with the team to meet service goals. You will support with daily living tasks, health appointments, and liaise with landlords to aid relocation when needed.

The role requires a BA/BS in a relevant field and 2 years’ caring experience, with a focus on compassionate, adaptable and professional service delivery.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required in Psychology, Community Development, Counselling, Social Care, Social Work, or similar.
• 2 years’ experience in a social or caring setting.
• Excellent communicator with client-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support project/keyworkers and management to implement goals and follow-up on actions.
• Deliver personal, professional and social development programs.
• Provide daily living support including personal care, laundry, cleaning, and mobility assistance.
• Assist in managing medication and healthcare appointments with GP and pharmacists.
• Conduct harm reduction interventions and manage challenging behaviour.
• Coordinate handovers, diaries, reports and follow-ups per policy.
• Assist service users with liaising with landlords and moving location.
