Job summary

Dublin Simon Community is hiring a Support Worker to meet service user needs daily, contribute to best-practice standards, and participate in training and induction. The role covers accommodation services at Usher’s Island with a 37.5-hour week and 8-month maternity-cover contract.

Salary ranges from 33,500 to 35,000 EUR depending on experience (DOE). Reports to the Nurse Manager and includes 10 training days per year to support success.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in psychology, social care, or related field and relevant experience.
• Minimum two years in a social or caring setting.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with respect and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Support service users to achieve their goals and follow up on support plans.
• Deliver personal, professional and social development programmes.
• Provide daily living support including hygiene, laundry and housekeeping.
• Assist in managing health regimes and arranging healthcare appointments.
• Conduct harm reduction interventions and crisis management when needed.
• Coordinate with landlords and assist with moving locations.
• Ensure consistent handovers, diaries and incident reporting.
