Job summary

Focus Ireland in Dublin is seeking a Community Integration Worker to support individuals moving from homelessness into long‑term housing. You will promote social inclusion and help customers develop skills through education, training and employment.

You will work with Case Managers and partners to deliver holistic support, develop personalised community integration plans, connect customers to local resources, and maintain GDPR‑compliant records in internal systems.

Qualifications

  • Third Level qualification in social care or CORU registered social care worker.
  • Two years' experience in community development, social care, or work with vulnerable populations.
  • Understanding Housing First principles in Ireland.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What You Will Do
  • Work in line with Housing First core values and principles as outlined in A Housing First Manual for Ireland.
  • Support the overall objectives of the Housing First Service and adhere to best practice standards.
  • Engage customers using active engagement and a strengths‑based approach.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, multidisciplinary teams, and external services to deliver holistic support.
  • Facilitate tenant and community engagement events to promote integration and inclusion.
  • Develop individualised community integration plans aligned with customer goals and housing stability.
  • Connect customers to local resources, education, training, employment, and recreational opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems and PASS, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Participate in training, supervision, meetings, and work a flexible rota as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.
  • Promote health, safety, and welfare in the workplace, and undertake additional duties as required.
What You Will Need
  • A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology, etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker
  • Two years’ experience of working in community development, social care work, or working with vulnerable populations.
  • An understanding of the core values and principles of Housing First in Ireland
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Full Driver’s License with access to a car.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build rapport with individuals.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed care principles.
  • Creativity and flexibility in developing community integration strategies.
  • Empathy, cultural competence, and a commitment to promoting social inclusion.
  • Experience of working and liaising with other agencies, including both voluntary statutory.
  • Knowledge of local employment … and proactive approach to establishing new connections and building partnerships
