Job summary

Leopardstown Park Hospital is seeking a Full Time Catering Assistant on a specified purpose contract to provide catering services to residents, staff and visitors. The role involves preparing and serving meals, adhering to HACCP and health and safety guidelines, and supporting daily catering operations across the unit.

The post requires at least 1 year of catering experience for large numbers, entrants must have Junior Certificate or equivalent, and Fetac Level 5 is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year working in the catering industry.
• Experience catering for large numbers in a busy environment.
• Junior Certificate level education (or equivalent).
• Fetac Level 5 desirable

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting catering services to service users, staff and visitors.
• Service of meals, counter service, ensuring portion controls and customer satisfaction.
• Dishwashing and pot washing.
• Cleaning of equipment and area according to HACCP schedules and checklists.
• Co-operate with nursing staff, dietician and staff to meet dietary needs.
• Check meals at all service points for quality, temperature, quantity and presentation.
• Interact with residents and attend social events.
• Visit dining rooms during mealtimes
