Job summary

The Rehab Group is seeking a Home Support Worker (CareLink) to provide flexible in-home care for older people and adults with disabilities in Dungarvan and surrounding areas. The role aims to support clients to live with respect and dignity within their own home and community.

Ideal candidates hold a QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification (or equivalent) with on-the-job QQI Level 5 training. A full clean driving licence and own transport are required.

Qualifications

• A relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• On the job QQI Level 5 training provided (care skills and care of the older person).
• Experience of working with older people and/or people with disabilities.
• Experience in provision of home care services.

Responsibilities

• Provide Home Care support to older person and/or adults with disabilities.
• Support clients to live with respect and dignity at home and in the community.
• Enhance quality of life and promote independence at home and in the community.
• Report changes in health and wellbeing following agreed protocol.

competitive hourly rates: Starting at €15.50 up to €15.95

Additionally, we are currently running a pilot program until 31st December 2026 offering: Enhanced hourly rates: Starting at €16.13 up to €16.59

Contract Hours Available:Fixed term Relief (variable) hours

Job Purpose

To provide a flexible Home Care support service to the older person and to adults, young people and children with disabilities. The aim is to support and enable the clients to live with respect and dignity within their own home and community.

Minimum Education & Skills required

• A relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent is desirable
• On the job QQI Level 5 training provided (care skills and care of the older person)
• Experience of working with older people and/or with people with disabilities.
• Experience in the provision of home care services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• To provide a Home Care support service to the older person and/or to adults, young people and children with disabilities
• The purpose of the role is to support and enable clients to live with respect and dignity within their own home and community
• To enhance the quality of life for the clients and facilitate them to maintain and promote their independence within their home environment and within their community
• To ensure appropriate and timely reporting in any changes to an individual’s health and wellbeing, following the agreed protocol and Code of conduct

Additional requirements

• Reporting to the Home Support Coodinator/Care Planner Manager
• Participate in CareLink training programme & completed QQI level 5 Fetac modules: Care Skills and Care of the older person within the Induction period.
• Own transportation required
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Flexible with regard to working hours in order to meet the operational needs of the service
