Job summary

Dfds A/S in Clonmel is seeking an HGV Driver to deliver and collect goods across Ireland from our Clonmel site. You will represent DFDS with professionalism on every customer interaction and work with a modern fleet to maintain safety, compliance, and service standards.

The role requires a full HGV Class 1 licence, a valid Tacho Card, and a current CPC qualification. Good English communication skills are essential for accurate documentation and effective customer and colleague interaction.

Responsibilities

• Safely delivering and collecting chilled, ambient, and produce goods to and from customer locations.
• Completing delivery documentation accurately and signing as required.
• Complying with road transport legislation and company policies.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly.
• Recording all activities in line with legal and company requirements.
• Working in accordance with Drivers’ Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Ensuring loads are secured safely and transported per procedures.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers at all times.
• Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.

About the role

As an HGV Driver, you'll play a key role in ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time across Ireland. Operating from our Clonmel site, you'll be responsible for carrying out deliveries and collections while representing DFDS with professionalism at every customer interaction. Working with our modern fleet, you'll help maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service, ensuring products reach their destination in excellent condition. You will be responsible for:

• Safely delivering and collecting chilled, ambient, and produce goods to and from customer locations.
• Ensuring all delivery documentation is completed accurately and signed where required.
• Complying with all road transport legislation and company policies.

About you

You will hold a full HGV Class 1 licence and have a valid Tacho Card as well as a current CPC qualification. You will possess good English communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to complete documentation accurately and interact effectively with customers and colleagues. In addition, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and take pride in representing the business in a professional manner.
