Job summary

MedGen Healthcare Ireland is seeking Healthcare Assistants for multiple positions across County Galway. The role involves supporting nursing staff to deliver person-centred care and engaging residents with activities while maintaining dignity and hygiene.

The package includes competitive hourly pay and flexible opportunities to suit your lifestyle. Applicants should have QQI Level 5 in healthcare, a minimum of 6 months healthcare experience, strong communication skills, and eligibility to work

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 healthcare qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 6 months experience in a healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Can work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Valid eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland.
• Fluent level of English, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Support the nursing staff in delivering quality person-centred care.
• Get to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
• Enable residents to maintain personal appearance and hygiene with dignity.
• Participate in, organise and carry out social activities.
• Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the home.
• Contribute to health and safety in the home.
• Carry out other duties as deemed by Nurse in Charge and management.

Job description

MedGen Healthcare Ireland are looking for Healthcare Assistants, for a number of positions across County Galway

Pay: €20.00 - €45.00 per hour

Role Requirements:

• Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents

• Getting to know residents' interests and needs providing attention, support and companionship

• Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity

• Participating, organising and carrying out social activities

• Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home

• Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home

• Any other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge and management

Candidate Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare (or equivalent)

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare environment

• Excellent communication skills

• Can work independently and/or part of a team

• Valid eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland
