Responsibilities
- Ability to deliver high quality person centred care while maintaining residents' dignity and independence.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to residents.
- Experience assisting residents with mobility, daily living activities, and personal care needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with nursing staff, residents, and families.
- Strong observation and reporting skills to identify and communicate changes in residents' conditions.
- Ability to assist residents with feeding, hydration, and maintaining overall comfort and wellbeing.
- Experience supporting and encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, cleanliness standards, and health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a busy care environment.
Requirements
- Healthcare qualification completed or currently in progress (QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or residential care setting is desirable.
- Relevant healthcare experience is required for Senior Healthcare Assistant applicants.
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred resident care.
- Compassionate and caring approach with a genuine interest in supporting older adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
