Job description

Safety on a production site isn't paperwork. It's how people go home every day.

We're looking for a Health & Safety Officer to keep our manufacturing facility safe, healthy and compliant, and to make safety something people genuinely buy into.

You’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and the people on the lines. It's a hands‑on role for someone who pairs sound technical judgement with an approachable style: visible on the floor, trusted by employees, confident advising managers.

What you’ll do
  • Own and improve the site's H&S Management System.
  • Lead risk assessments and put practical controls in place.
  • Keep the Safety Statement current and the site compliant with Irish legislation.
  • Investigate incidents and near‑misses, and prevent repeats.
  • Run inspections and audits, and close out actions fast.
  • Build safety into equipment and process changes with Operations and Engineering.
  • Drive a positive safety culture through training, toolbox talks and engagement.
  • Coordinate inductions, refresher training and the First Responder programme.
  • Support fire and emergency plans, drills and equipment.
  • Manage contractor safety from pre‑qualification to on‑site compliance.
  • Keep Safety Data Sheets and records accurate, and report on performance.
What we’re looking for
  • At least 2 years of proven Health & Safety experience on a production line or in a manufacturing facility (food or pharmaceutical experience is an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of Irish H&S requirements
  • Excellent English, written and spoken
  • Risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and corrective actions, with strong Excel and PowerPoint (SharePoint an advantage).
  • Friendly, calm and collaborative, with the confidence to challenge when needed.
  • If you’d rather see safety in action on the floor than in a folder, we’d like to hear from you.
  • Manual Handling and First Aid certification is preferred
What we offer
  • Opportunity to gain experience with all manufacturing equipment and facilities
  • Predictable working hours: 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm Fridays
  • Balanced workload and great work‑life balance
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment, friendly atmosphere.
  • Private Health Insurance & dental cover scheme for employee and family
  • Company Defined Contribution Pension Scheme
  • Group Life Assurance
  • Performance based bonus
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Educational Assistance Program
