Job summary

Ennis Road Care Facility in Meelick, Co. Clare, seeks Healthcare Assistants to join our team. You will work as part of a caring group delivering person-centred care to residents.

We offer a 39-hour week with pay of €16.12 per hour (€32,691.36 annually). The role focuses on supporting residents’ daily needs, maintaining dignity and safety in a welcoming home environment.

Qualifications

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent).
• Some experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Support the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to residents.
• Get to know residents’ interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
• Promote residents’ mobility, supervise and assist to maintain or improve mobility.
• Assist residents with personal appearance and hygiene while upholding dignity.
• Help residents eat/drink and achieve physical comfort.
• Participate in, organise and carry out social activities.
• Maintain high-level communication between residents’ families and staff.
• Assist in keeping the home clean and safe, upholding health and safety standards.
• Care for each resident as you would for a family member.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management.

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team.

Our Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents of Ennis Road, Meelick, Co. Clare V94 D2T3.

What will you need to do:

• Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents.
• Getting to know residents’ interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
• Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimummobility is maintained and improved where possible.
• Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity.
• Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort.
• Participating, organising and carrying out social activities.
• Sustaining a high level of communication between residents’ families and staff, developing good relationships.
• Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home.
• Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home.
• Care for each resident like they are your own family.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management

What are the qualifications/skills needed?

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent) in all relevant modules.
• Some experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment.
• Good command of the English language, both written and oral.
