Job summary

Irish HomeCare is seeking qualified Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Westmeath. You will provide personal, non-medical care to clients in their own homes and support their daily living according to each Care Plan.

Candidates should hold a QQI Level 5 Health or Social Care (or equivalent), have prior care experience, a full Irish driving licence and strong English communication skills. 39 hours per week with various shifts and a salary of €32,691 per annum.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 in Health or Social Care or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of care/healthcare experience.
• Full Irish Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
• Strong English language communication, both spoken and written.
• Geriatric care understanding is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, non-medical care to clients in their homes.

Location: Westmeath, Co Westmeath

About the Role: Irish HomeCare is seeking qualified and experienced Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team in Westmeath. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing home care services to our clients in the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal, non-medical care and assistance to clients in their own homes
• Assist with clients’ physical, nutritional and social needs as laid out in their Care Plan
• Provide personal care (e.g., washing, dressing, assisting with continence care), mobilising, assistance with feeding, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc.

Requirements

• A major award in Health or Social Care or equivalent (Qualified to Level 5 on the QQI Framework)
• Previous care or healthcare experience
• A general understanding of geriatric health and mobility issues
• Strong verbal communication skills and good command of spoken and written English
• A full Irish (or Irish recognised) Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential

Hours of Work: 39 hours per week. Must be available to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings (including weekends and bank holidays).

Salary

EUR 32,691 per annum
