Job summary

Avista is seeking a Care Assistant at St. Vincent’s Centre, Lisnagry, Limerick, to support people with intellectual disabilities and autism in a community setting.

You will work in a person-centred, rights-based team, supporting service users to participate in local activities and develop skills in identified areas of interest, under Avista’s value-driven framework. • Minimum of fully completed FETAC/QQI level 5 in Healthcare qualification or higher equivalent.
• Full clean manual Irish driving licence.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Experience working with intellectual disability and with autism and Behaviours of Concern.
• Desire to support people to live their best lives and promote engagement in local communities.
• Willingness to help service users develop skills and competencies in identified areas of interest and learning.
• Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
