Job summary

FRS Recruitment is assisting a well-established manufacturing company in the Tipperary/Midlands region to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator. This is an 11-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for permanency and an immediate start for the right candidate.

You will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety management systems across the site, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Irish legislation.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (ideally Level 6 or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably within manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Good knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and workplace safety requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Strong organizational, communication and administrative skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively with management and employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety policies, procedures and systems.
• Carry out regular workplace safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and following up on corrective actions.
• Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Method Statements.
• Monitor compliance with site Health & Safety procedures and escalated areas of concern where required.
• Assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
• Identify root causes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain accurate Health & Safety, accident and incident records.
• Identify & coordinate Health & Safety training requirements across the business.
• Support Health & Safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Deliver Manual Handling training as part of the new employee induction process and coordinate refresher training.
• Assist with fire safety inspections, emergency drills and emergency preparedness activities.
• Assist with the preparation of Health & Safety reports, statistics and performance updates.

This is an initial 11-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Health & Safety management systems across the site.
