Job description

HRM is a talent consulting firm delivering a range of solutions to a blue chip client base in Irish and international markets. These include Executive Search, Contract & Interim, HR Consultants, Talent Mapping and non-sourced contractor payroll provision.

We wish to appoint a Head of Marketing & Communications to drive customer attraction, brand and solution awareness, market intelligence and stakeholder relationship management.

This is a senior, commercially focused role with a broad mandate. As part of the senior leadership team, you will work to understand our markets and customers, identifying immediate and emerging opportunities. Your role will continuously improve the experience of all stakeholders.

The opportunity is ultimately about supporting the growth of organisational capability: drawing on stakeholder feedback, using internal data and AI to turn information into insights, and ensuring arising commercial actions are delivered.

The Role

Working in collaboration with colleagues in Market Activation and Brand & Events, you will align three connected areas:

  • Define and lead HRM’s approach to market and customer intelligence, ensuring external insight informs commercial and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish structured approaches to capturing, analysing and acting on customer feedback and market signals.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and broader market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities, risks and areas of strategic relevance.
  • Translate all data, including that arising from direct customer feedback meetings, into clear recommendations for the leadership team and client-facing functions.
  • Identify changing client requirements, underserved needs and opportunities for new propositions, services and routes to market.
  • Strengthen HRM’s understanding of priority markets, sectors, customers and buying behaviour to inform commercial strategy.
Commercial & Revenue Insight and Activity
  • Using internal systems and AI, develop a commercial intelligence framework that gives leadership greater visibility of business performance, customer activity and future opportunity.
  • Working with the Head of Finance, use CRM, pipeline, revenue and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and areas requiring intervention.
  • Provide insight that enables teams to prioritise accounts, opportunities and business development activities and priorities more effectively.
  • Contribute insight to strategic planning, investment decisions and growth initiatives across the business.
  • Run the rolling marketing report outlining activation, brand and events for each Week, Fortnight, Month, Quarter, half-year, Annual marketing plan, reporting into the leadership meeting on progress / outcomes / obstacles to each.
AI, Automation & Commercial Enablement
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities where AI can materially improve research, marketing, business development, customer insight and internal workflows.
  • Lead the design and implementation of smarter processes that reduce manual activity and improve the quality, consistency and speed of decision‑making.
  • Establish appropriate approaches to the adoption and effective use of AI across the organisation.
  • Ensure technology investment is connected to clear commercial, customer or operational outcomes.
What we seek

This is a central role in the firm and will play a very influential role in designing the future of the firm. Relevant backgrounds could include senior positions in marketing, customer insight, analytics ideally with sales operations and digital transformation experience.

You will bring commercial judgement and analytical skills, combined with the ability to translate data into strategic initiatives and oversee their implementation. It is essential that you can align thinking and doing, neither in isolation will work. You will be comfortable leading others while advising and challenging senior stakeholders.

You will have significant experience of CRM, commercial analytics, reporting or business intelligence, and ideally experience in AI centred systems.

The Person

The successful individual is likely to be:

  • Commercially astute, with the judgement to identify what matters and where insight can create value.
  • Strategically minded but pragmatic, with a strong bias towards implementation and measurable outcomes.
  • Intellectually curious and comfortable working with complex, incomplete or evolving information.
  • Highly credible with senior stakeholders and able to influence across functions without relying on formal authority.
  • Confident working with data and technology while maintaining a strong understanding of customers, markets and commercial realities.
  • Capable of building new organisational capabilities, bringing structure to emerging areas and leading change through influence.
  • Interested in the practical potential of AI and emerging technology, while maintaining a disciplined focus on business value.
