Job summary

Hazardous Materials Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Operations Lead in Ireland oversees safe, compliant handling of hazardous materials and other goods. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance (IATA/DOT), team leadership, inventory control, and enforcing HSE standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in warehouse logistics with at least 2 years in leadership handling hazardous materials.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations (IATA, DOT).
• NFQ QQI Level 5 in Life Sciences Manufacturing Operations or equivalent.
• HACCP implementation and verification Certified.
• ATC-04 Installation & Maintenance of equipment in Explosive Atmospheres certified.
• DG Transport Awareness Training - Certified.
• Forklift Driving Licence.
• MEWP, Spotter Training - Certified.
• Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and adapt quickly to changing demands.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate domestic and international shipping activities for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with IATA, DOT and applicable governmental requirements.
• Prepare and maintain all shipping documentation and records.
• Coordinate receipt, inspection, loading, unloading, and movement of shipments.
• Ensure shipment integrity through trailer inspections and SOP adherence.
• Manage express mail, package sorting, and internal delivery services.
• Support recalls and audits with accurate shipping records.
• Log received materials, bills of lading, and shipment documentation.
• Coordinate temporary storage and transfer of materials to off-site locations.
• Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready loading docks and warehouse areas.
• Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures.
• Maintain adherence to quality standards (AIB, GMP) and internal procedures.
• Conduct safety and equipment inspections and warehouse audits.
• Provide hands-on operational support to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Support R&D operations and facility initiatives as required.
