Job summary

Engage People Recruitment is assisting an Irish company in Galway search for a Group Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. This newly created role leads monthly management accounts and financial reporting for Irish and international entities, owning the general ledger and driving improvements with the stock system.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA with industry experience, capable of multi-entity/multi-currency reporting and strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with experience working in industry.
• Experience working across multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
• Demonstrable experience preparing management accounts and delivering structured month-end reporting.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to translate operational activity into financial performance.
• Experience with project accounting, job costing or similar reporting environments.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior finance, operational and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management accounts and financial reporting process across Irish and international entities.
• Own the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction processing and robust records.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier reconciliations.
• Deliver group balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.

An Irish company that has seen fantastic growth in recent years is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join them.

This is a newly created role for the company, which has a strong finance team in place. It is a busy and varied role that involves leading the monthly management accounts and systems implementation.

The role suits a qualified Accountant with industry experience.

Duties:

• Lead the monthly management accounts and financial reporting process across Irish and international entities against an agreed reporting timetable.
• Own the general ledger, ensuring accurate transaction processing and robust financial records.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier reconciliations to maintain strong working-capital discipline.
• Deliver group balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances promptly.
• Drive practices and procedures with the new stock system and confirm they are being implemented

Experience:

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with experience working in industry
• Experience working across multi-entity and multi-currency environments
• Demonstrable experience preparing management accounts and delivering structured month-end reporting.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to understand how operational activity translates into financial performance.
• Experience working with project accounting, job costing, work in progress or similar financial reporting environments
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior finance, operational and project stakeholders.
