Job summary

Boston Scientific in Clonmel is seeking a Graduate Systems Engineer on a defined-term basis (23 months) to learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to medical device development.

You will support requirements, traceability, system architecture, risk management, verification and validation, and cross-functional collaboration with Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Hons Bachelor Degree (Level 8) in Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
• Graduated within the past two years or currently in the final year of university.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to contribute in a collaborative environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an interest in understanding how complex systems work.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals and an interest in developing systems thinking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of user needs, system requirements and subsystem requirements under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Assist with maintaining requirements traceability between user needs, design outputs, verification and validation activities.
• Participate in system architecture, interface and integration discussions, building an understanding of how system elements work together.
• Support risk management activities, including hazard analysis and risk assessments, in accordance with medical device development processes.
• Assist with planning, preparation and execution of system-level verification and validation activities.
• Support system characterisation, integration and testing activities, including documenting results and helping investigate technical issues.
• Help prepare and maintain clear, accurate systems engineering documentation and design records.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews and technical discussions, contributing analysis and ideas with support from the wider team.
