Job summary

Ascension is seeking a field-based engineer to provide comprehensive support for medical device equipment, including installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair, with customer training as needed.

Applicants should have a technical background in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering, with travel flexibility and a full clean driver's license. Prior service experience is an advantage, and close liaison with support admin is expected.

Qualifications

• Technical background – qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Mechanical, electrical or biomedical graduates will be considered.
• Experience in medical device service or electronic equipment is advantageous.
• Full clean driver’s license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete product support on medical device equipment including installation and commissioning, preventive maintenance, repair and customer training.
• Ensure field activities comply with quality procedures and relevant service guidelines.
• Liaise regularly with customer support administration and provide engineers reports for invoicing.
• Proactively manage customer relations with emphasis on communication and satisfaction.

Job description

• Provide complete product support on medical device equipment, this will include installation and commissioning, preventative maintenance, repair and customer training
• Work undertaken by engineers must comply with the relevant quality procedure relating to that service or activity.
• Liaise with customer support administration on a regular basis.
• Provide engineers reports and all relevant documentation to customer support administration for further processing and invoicing.
• Proactively manage customer relations with particular emphasis on communication with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Role requirements.

• The ideal candidate will have a technical background – qualified in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical graduates will be considered.
• Field based experience in medical device service or electronic equipment is an advantage, but not essential.
• The suitable candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible, willing to travel, customer focused, technically competent and commercially aware with strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills.
• Additionally, they will possess strong organisational skills, the ability to thrive under pressure along with a strong desire to succeed.
• A full clean driver’s license is a must.
