Job summary

Arup in Ireland is seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist to join multidisciplinary teams on transport, water and energy projects. You will help unlock ground-related challenges beneath the surface and support sustainable infrastructure.

You will conduct desk studies, site assessments, log soils and rocks, prepare reports, and contribute to EIAs and regulatory submissions. Training and progression toward chartership are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Level 8 or above) in Geology/Geoscience related field.
• Degree in Geological Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences or Engineering Geoscience.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical desk studies and develop ground models.
• Plan and interpret ground investigations and site inspections (soil/rock logging).
• Produce technical reports and environmental documentation.
• Contribute to EIAs and regulatory submissions.
• Identify and manage ground-related risks throughout projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and environmental specialists to develop sustainable solutions.
• Utilise digital tools and data-driven approaches for project delivery.
• Engage with professional bodies on chartership goals.
• Undertake site-based roles with potential Ireland/overseas assignments.
