Arup is seeking a Work Placement Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join the Ground Engineering team in Cork or Dublin, Ireland. You will help deliver geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical input to diverse projects across Ireland and internationally.

The role offers hands-on field and desk work, including planning ground investigations, logging, groundwater monitoring, and report preparation, with an emphasis on sustainable engineering and learning within a global consultancy.

Formación

• Currently working towards an undergraduate or masters degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, or related discipline.
• Demonstrates a passion for sustainable development and solving complex problems.
• Shows eagerness to learn and collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical desk studies and develop conceptual ground models.
• Plan and interpret ground investigations (drilling, trial pits, logging, in situ testing, groundwater monitoring).
• Undertake groundwater resource and borehole investigations, design and evaluate performance.
• Carry out hydrogeological investigations including pumping tests and groundwater data interpretation.
• Support infrastructure, environmental and development projects with geological assessments and earthworks considerations.
• Model groundwater flow, contaminant transport and geotechnical aspects to inform designs.
• Prepare technical reports and environmental documentation; contribute to EIAs and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with specialists from other disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Attend project meetings and communicate with clients, regulators and project partners.
