Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

The Opportunity

At Arup, our Engineering Geologists play a critical role in delivering safe, sustainable and resilient infrastructure projects. From major transportation networks and water infrastructure to tunnels, buildings and renewable energy developments, you'll help unlock the challenges beneath the surface and shape the world above it.

  • Planning and interpretation of ground investigations, site inspections (including soil and rock logging) and geological assessments
  • Geological and geotechnical assessments supporting infrastructure, environmental and development projects, including earthworks, slopes, excavations and rock engineering.
  • Preparation of technical reports, factual and interpretative ground investigation reports, assessments and environmental documentation.
  • Geological and hydrogeological input to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Environmental Statements and regulatory submissions.
  • Help identify and manage ground-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assessment of potential impacts of developments on ground conditions, including identification of mitigation measures.
  • Work closely with engineers, environmental specialists and project teams to develop practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Utilise digital tools and data-driven approaches to support project delivery.
  • Participate in local professional bodies and work toward chartership or formal qualifications
  • Undertake site based roles with potential for assignments in Ireland and overseas
