Job summary

Arup is recruiting a Graduate Geoenvironmental Scientist / Engineer in Dublin or Cork to support ground engineering and environmental projects across Ireland and internationally.

The role develops knowledge of land, groundwater, and environmental conditions, enabling delivery of sustainable infrastructure and risk management for clients. Applicants should have a related degree and be on track to graduate, with limited full-time experience and a drive to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level or higher in geoscience-related field
• Interest in ground environment and sustainable development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn
• Passion for delivering environmentally responsible solutions
• Provide transcript with application
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Review environmental and historical information indicating contamination
• Undertake geoenvironmental assessments linking contamination and receptors
• Assist design of ground investigations and site inspections
• Analyse geochemical data for land and water quality
• Assess material reuse, recovery, or disposal options
• Contribute to groundwater modelling and remediation assessments
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on integrated engineering solutions
