About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Goods Receiving Associate to manage all incoming deliveries for The Kingsley. You will be the front-line safeguard for our hotel’s supply chain, ensuring that every delivery—from fresh kitchen produce and fine wines to crisp linens and luxury guest amenities—meets our strict standards for quality, count, and safety before entering the building.
Key Responsibilities
- Inbound Delivery Inspection: Unload incoming freight, food items, beverages, and hotel supplies at the loading dock.
- Order & Temperature Verification: Inspect all incoming items against purchase orders, delivery dockets, and invoices; perform food safety temperature checks on refrigerated and frozen goods upon delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect goods for damage or spoilage, reject subpar stock, and immediately log discrepancies, short deliveries, or damaged goods with the Purchasing Manager.
- System Logging: Enter daily receiving records into the hotel’s inventory management system to ensure accurate real-time stock counts and smooth invoice processing for accounting.
- Cross-Department Distribution: Securely transfer and distribute goods to the appropriate departments, including kitchen walk-ins, housekeeping storerooms, engineering, and beverage cellars.
- Department Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure loading dock area, adhering to hotel hygiene, safety, and food standards (HACCP).
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in goods receiving, stores, or inventory control (hospitality or food service experience strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with inventory software (e.hotel procurement systems)
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP or equivalent certification preferred).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) repeatedly and work on your feet throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and efficient communication with delivery vendors and internal hotel teams.
