Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dublin/Birmingham seeks a Vice President to join the Global Privacy Office, providing expert privacy guidance to senior stakeholders across Ireland and Europe and helping to advance the firm’s privacy program.

The role requires leading privacy risk assessments, collaborating with Legal, Engineering and Risk teams, and ensuring compliance with Irish and EU privacy laws and AI-related considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent; legal degree is helpful.
• CIPP/E certification is highly preferred.
• At least 7 years of work experience in the Privacy or Data Protection domain.
• Experience with GDPR, Irish Data Protection Act 2018, ePrivacy Regulations, EU AI Act, etc.
• Financial services experience is a plus, particularly within an Irish or EU-regulated entity.

Responsibilities

• Leading identification and strategic assessment of privacy risks across Ireland and Europe.
• Identifying and executing opportunities to scale the firm’s global privacy program within European jurisdictions.
• Providing expert privacy advisory guidance to business, engineers, operations, compliance and other stakeholders.
• Overseeing privacy risk assessment processes (DPIAs and AI-related assessments).
• Reviewing products and activities against Irish and EU privacy requirements and standards.
• Counselling cross-functional project teams on privacy implications of new initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Monitoring and reporting to senior management on the status of the privacy program.
• Partnering with Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Risk and Business teams on privacy regulation changes.
• Partnering with Engineering to design tools that support the privacy program.
• Promoting governance frameworks and a culture of privacy risk accountability.
