Job summary

WSP in Ireland is seeking a senior leader for the Mine Waste team, delivering mine waste projects and tailings facilities across the UK, Ireland and beyond. The role combines technical leadership, project direction, business development and client liaison within a diverse team of engineers and scientists.

The successful candidate will travel to different sites, supervise junior staff, prepare reports, and contribute to strategy and technical excellence within WSP.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with strong soil mechanics background.
• Substantial experience in mine waste and tailings projects.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams delivering large projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consulting services for mine waste projects including tailings design and facility assessment.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and scientists across design through to project delivery.
• Provide technical direction on tailings management facilities, water impoundments and related civil works.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, cost estimates and proposals; manage budgets and timelines.
