Job summary

Cook Ireland is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead the Operations function comprising Production, Procurement, Quality Control, Facilities, and Health, Safety & Environment, and to align local operations with global direction while reporting to the Vice President and General Manager Cook Ireland.

Qualifications

• Third level degree in a relevant field and senior management experience.
• Understanding of production and supply chain management with budgeting.
• Experience in the European medical device market is advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Proven problem-solving and strong organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel on company business.

Responsibilities

• Develop short, medium and long term objectives for the Operations Function.
• Develop, implement and maintain strategies and monitor performance.
• Work with all areas to support smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance to quality system policies and audits.
• Liaise with divisional management for best fit operational support.
• Coordinate inter-site communication to meet corporate goals.
• Develop and manage department budgets and expenses.
• Monitor purchasing and overhead costs within responsibility.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet business objectives.
• Monitor productivity and implement improvements as needed.
• Review supply chain to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Engage with third party suppliers for material supply.
• Manage health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Conduct people management: training, appraisals, performance issues.
• Own the local SIOP process and governance; provide strategic direction.
• Coach direct reports and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain open communication across teams in Operations.
• Pursue continuous improvement to eliminate waste.
• Ensure travel/subsistence rules are followed; timely expense reporting.
• Promote Cook brand and Code of Conduct in all business matters.
