Job summary

Jones Engineering in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, seeks a Buyer to manage procurement for key projects. You will work with project teams to ensure quality, cost and delivery targets, and negotiate with suppliers to support domestic and international projects.

Candidate should have at least 3 years in construction purchasing, with SAP knowledge and strong communication skills. Training on in-house systems will be provided, and you will join a supportive engineering team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a construction purchasing role.
• Engineering experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of / experience in the construction industry required.
• Relevant 3rd level qualification - IIPMM or equivalent preferred.
• Full training on in-house procedures/systems will be provided.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills; SAP knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Attend procurement meetings with project teams and ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are met; monitor supplier performance.
• Procure for key projects domestically and internationally through sourcing, negotiation, pricing, technical compliance and supplier selection.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with quality procedures on projects.
• Prepare project procurement reports.
• Monitor supplier performance for projects with Head of Procurement.
• Provide accurate information to Head of Electrical Procurement for strategic decisions.
• Lead continuous improvement of SAP ERP-based procurement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Procurement.
