Job summary

Clearwater Analytics seeks an Associate General Counsel – International to guide legal, compliance, and risk management for its international operations, including cross-border contracts and data privacy for non-U.S. clients.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will support international growth, coordinate with outside counsel, and lead license and technology agreements across multiple jurisdictions while monitoring GDPR, DORA, and evolving regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• LLB/JD or equivalent with license to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification legal experience, ideally including international/cross-border transactional law.
• Experience navigating multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments (e.g., EU, UK, APAC).
• Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion with creative solutions while managing multiple projects.
• Self-starter with an appreciation for a dynamic, cross-cultural work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across time zones and cultures.
• Impeccable ethics and professional demeanor.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, technical concepts in web applications.
• Fluency in French required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal, compliance, and risk guidance for international business matters.
• Review data and advise on appropriate action across international markets.
• Coordinate litigation and matters with outside counsel in non-U.S. jurisdictions.
• Develop and negotiate complex licenses and commercial agreements for international technology, software, and services.
• Monitor international regulatory changes and provide updates and training to the business.
• Support governance and contractual compliance across international entities.
