Conekt Legal is partnering with a fast‑growth financial services business to appoint a General Counsel overseeing UK & Ireland and international jurisdictions. The role sits with the International CEO and entails strategic, executive‑level leadership in a high‑growth environment.

The role requires a senior, qualified lawyer with strong regulatory expertise and experience shaping product and commercial strategies in a complex landscape. Hybrid Dublin location offered.

Qualifications

• Senior, qualified lawyer with registration in NI, England & Wales and/or Ireland.
• Proven experience operating at, or ready to step into General Counsel level.
• Strong grounding in financial services regulation (consumer credit experience is a significant advantage).
• Experience working closely with product and commercial teams.
• Track record of operating effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with confidence to interact at executive and Board level.

Responsibilities

• Set and lead the legal and regulatory agenda across multiple jurisdictions.
• Act as strategic advisor to the executive team and Board.
• Provide clear, commercial legal guidance through regulatory complexity.
• Support development and launch of financial products, especially consumer finance/instalment lending.
• Advise on go-to-market models, partnerships, and distribution strategies.
• Lead high-value commercial negotiations and partnerships.
• Oversee data protection strategy and risk management.
• Ensure governance frameworks support a scaling business.
• Coordinate across legal, compliance, and wider business teams.
