Job summary

Meta seeks a highly motivated litigator to serve as Associate General Counsel, Civil Litigation. You will lead a broad docket in Germany and across jurisdictions, focusing on privacy law and GDPR, including collective redress.

You will advise internal stakeholders, manage outside counsel, oversee budgets, and monitor EU civil procedure developments. Fluency in German and English is required, with a business-focused approach to resolution.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practice law in Germany with approx. 8 years of post-qualification experience focused on complex civil litigation
• Fluent in German and English, with ability to manage litigation across teams and jurisdictions
• Licensed to practice law with current certificate or equivalent bar registration as applicable

Responsibilities

• Owning end-to-end litigation strategy and execution for complex civil matters in Germany and across jurisdictions
• Expertise in privacy and GDPR-related litigation, leading on collective actions and coordinating global strategy across jurisdictions
• Managing outside counsel to ensure high-quality work product and alignment with business objectives
• Advising on pre-litigation dispute resolution, handling interim relief and settlement strategies
• Advising internal stakeholders on litigation risk and strategy with cross-functional collaboration
• Overseeing matter budgets, reporting, and governance with timely leadership communication
• Monitoring developments in German and EU civil procedure and translating them into actionable guidance
