Job summary

Arup is seeking a Work Placement Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team in Cork, Dublin or Limerick, Ireland. You will assist in desk studies, site assessments and the development of ground models, working across geotechnical design and regulatory tasks on a variety of infrastructure projects.

You will learn to plan and interpret ground investigations, support environmental statements, and collaborate with specialists from multiple disciplines to deliver sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical desk studies and develop conceptual ground models.
• Plan and interpret ground investigations, including drilling, trial pitting and logging.
• Assist geotechnical design for slopes, foundations, retaining walls and ground improvement.
• Support environmental and development projects with ground assessments and reporting.
• Prepare technical and interpretative ground investigation reports and EIAs support.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and risk assessment of ground conditions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate with partners and clients.
