Job summary

Arup in Ireland invites students to join the Geologist/Hydrogeologist Work Placement in Cork or Dublin. Join our Ground Engineering team to gain hands-on experience across geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical projects, with exposure to investigations, modelling and environmental assessments.

You’ll work on fieldwork planning, data interpretation and reporting, collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists to develop sustainable engineering solutions for infrastructure and development

Qualifications

Pursuing undergraduate or master's degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology or related.

Responsibilities

Geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical desk studies and development of conceptual ground models.
Planning and interpretation of ground investigations, including drilling, trial pitting and logging.
Groundwater resource investigations, borehole design and performance evaluation.
Hydrogeological investigations, pumping tests and groundwater data interpretation.
Geological and geotechnical assessments for infrastructure and environmental projects.
Prepare technical reports and environmental documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable engineering solutions.
