Job summary

Manor Farm in Shercock, Co. Cavan, is seeking a General Operative – Nutrition Centre (Feed Mill) to join our production team. This full-time, permanent role supports the daily running of the feed mill, helping produce high-quality feed for our farmers while adhering to safety and quality procedures.

You’ll operate equipment, handle materials, keep records accurate, and collaborate across production and engineering. Training is provided, with shifts including days, evenings and nights.

Qualifications

• Reliable and safety-conscious, able to follow procedures.
• Experience in feed mill or manufacturing is an advantage, training provided.
• Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment as trained.
• Support receipt, movement and preparation of raw materials.
• Ensure finished feed meets quality and production targets.
• Complete routine checks and record production data.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with GMP.
• Identify and report faults or safety risks promptly.
• Assist with stock checks, changeovers, cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Follow health, safety, environmental, quality, and biosecurity procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments.

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious General Operative to join our Nutrition Centre team in Shercock. This is a hands-on role in a busy feed mill, supporting the production of consistent, high-quality feed for our farmers. You will work as part of a close-knit team to keep production running safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate and monitor production equipment in line with training and standard procedures.
• Support the receipt, movement and preparation of raw materials for production.
• Help ensure finished feed meets quality requirements and production targets.
• Complete routine checks and accurately record production or quality information.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and fit for purpose in line with good manufacturing practice.
• Identify and report equipment faults, quality concerns or safety risks promptly.
• Support stock checks, changeovers, cleaning and basic preventative maintenance activities.
• Follow all health and safety, environmental, quality, biosecurity and company procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across production, engineering and other departments.
