Job summary

Sofina Foods Europe is hiring General Operatives for the Callan site in Kilkenny. Working on the morning shift, you’ll help produce high-quality pork and bacon products while adhering to hygiene, safety and quality standards.

Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm. Pay: €14.40 per hour. Full training provided, with opportunities for development within a growing team focused on safety and continuous improvement.

• Comfortable working in a chilled environment for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (4+ hours) on production floors.
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Work across various production lines, adapting to different speeds.
• Operate machinery safely following food safety and health & safety protocols.
• Follow daily production plan and assist with line setup and material checks.
• Perform hygiene, safety and pre-start checks to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure consistent product quality and accurate completion of tasks.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and site standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area and support continuous improvement.

Hours: Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm

Pay: €14.40 an hour

Your Key Responsibilities

As a General Operative, you will:

• Work across various production lines, adapting to different speeds and levels of complexity
• Operate machinery safely and in line with all food safety and health & safety protocols
• Follow the daily production plan, supporting with line set-up and material checks
• Perform all required hygiene, safety, and pre-start checks to maintain a safe and compliant working environment
• Ensure consistent product quality and accurate completion of production tasks
• Collaborate with your team to meet production goals and uphold site standards
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation in your work area
• Take a proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

The Ideal Candidate

• Be comfortable working in a chilled environment for extended periods
• Be able to stand for over 4 hours and move around the production floor unaided
• Have a strong work ethic and a commitment to learning – full training will be provided
