Job description

Unilin Insulation is looking for a General Manager who is ready to own a significant, high-impact business with 230 million in turnover, 450+ people, and four production sites across two countries. This is not a maintenance role. It's a mandate to grow, innovate, and lead a market-leading insulation business to its next chapter. You'll sit on the Executive Committee and shape the future of the division alongside a motivated leadership team that values bold thinking, operational excellence, and genuine people leadership.
If you're a commercially sharp, hands-on executive who thrives in complex environments and gets energy from building things.

  • Owning full P&L responsibility for the UK & Ireland business, including budget definition and delivery across all functional areas.
  • Setting and executing the regional commercial and operational strategy with a sharp focus on market leadership in Ireland and accelerating growth in the UK.
  • Leading four production sites with a relentless focus on efficiency, quality, safety, and innovation, embedding a Zero Harm culture across the organization.
  • Translating divisional strategy into ambitious, operational goals across sales, marketing, finance, HR, customer service, and technical teams.
  • Driving the innovation and sustainability pipeline, including CAPEX investment decisions to keep the business technologically competitive.
  • Building and developing a high-performing leadership team, fostering cross-functional collaboration across UK, Ireland, and the wider Unilin organization.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners: clients, industry associations, and business partners.
  • Staying closely connected to market dynamics, competitor movements, and product trends to keep the business agile and ahead.
  • You will report directly to the President. #LI-MD1
WHO ARE YOU?
  • You hold a degree in business, engineering or relevant discipline and are comfortable operating at board level. You bring at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in an industrial or construction-related environment, ideally with multi-site, multi-country accountability.
  • You have a proven track record of developing and executing strategic business plans that deliver real, measurable growth.
  • You're willing and able to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland as part of the role.
  • You are a natural commercial leader with strong financial acumen, and you understand the numbers, you drive the margin. You can make smart decisions under pressure.
  • You lead by example: you're direct, transparent, and credible. People follow you because you inspire them. You are a people person and coach, challenge, and develop teams, and you create cultures where ownership, drive, and collaboration thrive.
  • You're operationally grounded and understand manufacturing environments and know how to achieve excellence in cost, quality, and safety without sacrificing one for the other.
  • You can adapt to complexity and ambiguity, and you bring calm, pragmatic leadership when environments shift fast.
