Job summary

Amazon Development Centre South Africa is seeking a technical leader to guide a high-performing engineering team within the Customer Interaction Management space. You will drive the product vision, partner with product managers, and oversee delivery plans and risk management.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and ensure adherence to security and high-availability standards while supporting rapid AWS service expansion and customer growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive product vision with the product manager and set team goals.
• Develop roadmap and delivery plan; track progress and manage risks.
• Lead agile development processes that serve the team.
• Talent management: performance reviews, career development and mentoring.
• Ensure security, high availability and use of AWS best practices.
