Job summary

The Law Society seeks a Data Privacy Specialist/Paralegal to join the privacy team on a 12-month contract, ASAP start, supporting GDPR compliance and operations in a fast-paced, global tech environment.

Responsibilities include managing GDPR data subject rights, coordinating privacy cases, and maintaining auditable records, while liaising with the DPO and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous exposure to data privacy, GDPR, data subject rights, or related legal matters.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple cases, priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to explain privacy issues clearly.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail, discretion, and practical approach.
• Comfort working with technology, structured data, workflow tools; AI-enabled tools helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage GDPR-related data subject rights requests (access, erasure, rectification, etc.).
• Coordinate end-to-end privacy cases: triage, identity verification, searches, follow-up, closure.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records of requests, decisions, and deadlines.
• Assist with DPIAs, LIAs, and related privacy assessments and docs.
• Collaborate with DPO, Privacy team, Legal, Security, Product, Engineering, and Customer Care.
