Job summary

TTEP All-Island Trading Team in Dublin seeks an experienced Gas & Power Trader Analyst to optimise generation assets and maximise gross margin across Ireland and GB within the I-SEM framework.

You will execute trading strategies, submit ex-ante market bids, manage balancing and daily gas capacity, and collaborate with stakeholders while developing broader skills through rotating analytics projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in the gas and electricity markets (essential).
• Previous energy trading experience (essential).
• Experience and detailed knowledge of the ISEM.
• Knowledge of Ireland and GB commodity markets including gas, coal, oil and carbon.
• Knowledge of electricity interconnector operation, trading and Ireland energy market.
• Familiarity with REMIT, Trading & Settlement Code, BCOP, EMIR and related obligations.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with market modelling and analysis (e.g., SQL, Python, VBA).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting ex-ante market bids for multi-thermal units in the I-SEM.
• Optimising balancing market bids to maximise ex-ante positions and opportunities.
• Trading within-day gas and power markets to balance positions and reduce exposure.
• Managing daily gas capacity and reducing overrun costs while maximizing secondary trade opportunities.
• Managing carbon position and trading carbon per internal procedures.
• Devising and implementing short-term trading strategies for ex-ante and balancing markets.
• Ensuring licenses conditions are upheld through communications with network operators.
• Preparing, analysing, and summarising market reports for management and stakeholders.
• Providing regular information to industry bodies (SEMO, Eirgrid, CRU, GNI).
• Conducting competitor analysis and reviewing bidding strategies.
