Job summary

Yuno Energy in Dublin (hybrid) is expanding its Forward Trading team to build All-Island gas and power capabilities and scale trading operations across GB/ROI. You will support expansion of prompt and forward energy trading, develop new commercial opportunities and strengthen relationships with supply-side counterparties.

We welcome graduates and experienced candidates with strong Python and SQL skills, Git, and a passion for energy markets.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant discipline or five years' energy industry experience.
• Strong Python, SQL and Power BI for data analysis, process automation and development of internal tools.
• Practical experience using Git and version-control workflows.
• Experience developing data pipelines and automating repeatable processes, and comfortable working with large volumes of data.
• Experience with time-series modelling and machine-learning evaluation, including backtesting and performance metrics.
• Understanding of natural gas markets and wholesale gas trading, including Irish markets.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with ability to support commercial decision-making.
• Proactive self-starter and team player, with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Support senior management in developing All-Island Gas Shipping & Energy Trading capability and efficient trading of energy and transportation of gas.
• Participate in gas and electricity trading desk operations, optimizing prompt and day-ahead positions and reducing costs.
• Manage accurate processing of gas nominations and capacity bookings to minimize charges and prevent overruns.
• Prepare, analyse and present monthly trading KPIs and performance reports, and develop tools for forecasts of wholesale movements.
• Support formulation and ongoing review of gas trading and hedging strategies across all books.
• Support gas tariff reviews for supply-side operations and market condition analysis.
• Execute forward trades in electricity, gas, carbon and environmental certificates with approvals and counterparty management.
• Analyse impact of new regulations and identify opportunities like vertical integration.
• Develop, test and maintain internal systems and data pipelines to support trade reconciliation and desk workflows.
