Job summary

GridBeyond Limited is seeking a Senior Energy Trader to lead trading and commercial optimisation for its energy asset portfolio. You will develop strategies, balance risk and drive profitability across GB wholesale, Balancing Mechanism and ancillary services.

You will work closely with the Irish trading capability and expand knowledge across international markets, providing leadership and cross-market support where needed. A strong background in energy trading is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years in power trading or asset optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of GB electricity markets and Balancing Mechanism.
• Experience with energy assets such as batteries, renewables or demand-side assets.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency with trading platforms and market analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own and execute trading and asset optimisation strategies.
• Analyse market developments and inform trading decisions.
• Manage risk within trading mandates and limits.
• Collaborate with risk management, finance, operations, sales and legal.
• Provide cross-cover to GridBeyond trading markets as required.
• Onboard and go-live new assets reflecting constraints in systems.
• Maintain relationships with customers, partners and exchanges.
