Job summary

F.X. Buckley Group is seeking full-time Kitchen Porters to support busy kitchen operations in Ireland. You will operate dishwashers, assist with pot washing, deep cleaning, waste management, and basic prep tasks for chefs.

You’ll also help with deliveries, stock organization, and FIFO inventory in walk-in fridges and storage areas. Candidates must be available for full-time hours and legally permitted to work in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Tasks include operating the commercial dishwasher and hand-washing delicate items.

• Managing waste, recycling, and safe disposal per health rules.

Job description

We are looking for full time kitchen porters :

• Operating the commercial dishwasher, hand-washing delicate items (like copper pans or chef knives), and ensuring a constant supply of clean plates, cutlery, and glassware for the front-of-house staff.
• Pot Washing: Cleaning heavy-duty kitchen equipment, pots, pans, and baking trays. This is often the most physically demanding part of the job, requiring heavy scrubbing of burnt-on food.
• Deep Cleaning: Keeping the kitchen surfaces, walls, extraction hoods, and floors spotless. This involves regular mopping, sanitizing work stations, and deep-cleaning equipment at the end of a shift.
• Waste Management: Emptying kitchen bins regularly, sorting recycling, and safely disposing of food waste and grease in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Basic Food Prep: KPs are often asked to assist chefs with basic, entry-level prep tasks like peeling potatoes, washing vegetables, or chopping onions.
• Deliveries & Storage: Unloading delivery trucks, checking off inventory, and organizing stock in the walk-in fridges, freezers, and dry storage areas using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
