Job description

Galway
Hospitality | Hotel Management

Are you an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys being at the heart of a busy hotel, leading from the front rather than managing from behind a desk?

I'm recruiting for a Front Office Manager to join an established hotel. This is a genuinely hands-on role, working alongside an experienced management team and leading a knowledgeable Front Office team.

You’ll be responsible for making sure the guest journey runs smoothly from arrival to departure, while also supporting your team, keeping an eye on commercial performance and ensuring the Front Office operation is organised, efficient and welcoming.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading and supporting the Front Office team on a day-to-day basis
  • Creating a warm, professional welcome and ensuring guests receive a consistently high level of service
  • Overseeing smooth check-ins, check-outs and reservations
  • Being visible and approachable to guests, resolving any issues quickly and professionally
  • Working closely with Reservations, Sales and other hotel departments
  • Managing rotas and ensuring the department is appropriately staffed
  • Recruiting, training and developing members of the Front Office team
  • Monitoring guest feedback and looking for ways to continually improve the guest experience
  • Supporting room sales, yield management and revenue opportunities
  • Ensuring booking and guest information is accurate and up to date
  • Completing departmental reports and general administration
  • Attending management meetings and supporting wider hotel operations
  • Covering Duty Manager shifts when required
  • Ensuring relevant health & safety, security and operational standards are maintained
What they’re looking for

You’ll ideally already have experience in a Front Office Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager or similar hotel management position, along with proven experience of leading a team.

You’ll also need:
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • A good understanding of hotel budgets, revenue and commercial performance
  • Confidence working in a busy, guest-facing environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Opera, Hotsoft or similar hotel systems would be a definite advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English
